The Edwardsville YMCA is a charitable, non-profit organization serving the Edwardsville and Glen Carbon community. We are dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals and families in the communities we serve through programs and services based on Christian principles that promote a healthy spirit, mind and body for all. For more than 60 years, the Edwardsville YMCA has provided safe and caring environment, positive staff and volunteer role models, creative programs and activities and opportunities to serve the needs of others. These are the essential building blocks for strong kids, strong families and strong communities. Through our 2 facilities, the YMCA positively impacts more than 20,000 members as well as other community residents that take part in YMCA programs. Our membership reflects individuals and families of all ages, races, ethnicities, faiths, and economic backgrounds. Above all else, the Edwardsville YMCA is proud to have a family focus and strengthen our community. |

ESIC LOCKER ROOM RENOVATION |

A major renovation of the Esic Center locker rooms is scheduled to begin on Saturday, July 24th. The project is the latest in an aggressive plan to improve the Esic Center facility. The project includes demolition of the existing locker room facilities and complete renovation from floor to ceiling including improvements to the existing heating, cooling, and ventilation system.
In addition to the end result of completely new locker rooms other projects to be completed during the month of August and into early September include:
- Addition of two (2) family changing rooms
- Installation of a new hot water boiler system for the entire facility including a new energy efficient pool water heating system
- Painting of walls in both pool areas and resurfacing of the Pool #1 deck
In all, approximately $700,000 will be invested in the many great improvements that will be completed from July 24th through September 17th. During that timeframe the locker rooms and pools will be closed and unavailable for use.
This project will impact the Esic pool and locker room facilities only. All other programs and activities in the remainder of the Esic Center, including the restrooms and locker rooms in the main corridor, lower level restrooms, gymnasium, fitness center, multipurpose rooms, and racquetball courts will remain open. There will be more information to come about alternatives to our pool programs.
Due to the construction the main entrance will be closed and access to the Esic Center will be available from the entrance doors adjacent to the playground area and the lower level entrance.
These much needed major renovation projects will result in outstanding improvements to the Esic facility. As with all construction projects, schedule revisions and inconveniences will occur. We appreciate the understanding and patience of our members and guests and we join together in looking forward to a greatly improved Esic Center facility. |
