Brown Belt Testing At Esic
On March 8th the Esic Center hosted a Tae Kwon Do test for the rank of Brown Belt, one step below Black Belt. The test was very intense and lasted three hours. The purpose of testing is to demonstrate knowledge and skill in various aspects of martial arts, including self-defense, sport and classical techniques. The brown belt candidates are also expected to embody the tenets of Tae Kwon Do: courtesy, integrity, perseverance, indomitable spirit and self-control.
The group consists of four adults and three children who have been training together for several years. The adults are all working parents: three moms and one dad. All three women have kids who take martial arts with them. Along with the adults are two 13 year old girls and one 11 year old boy, who was testing along with his mom.
Congratulations to the group!
