The Edwardsville YMCA and the YMCA Foundation, Inc. have established several programs for the purpose of offering individuals an opportunity to financially support the mission and goals of the YMCA. Listed below is information about three such programs. If you would like further information about these programs, please contact the Executive Director.

CENTURY CLUB

In 1973, the YMCA Century Club was organized at the Edwardsville YMCA. Its primary purpose was to make available funds for young people and families who need and would benefit from the services of the YMCA but require financial assistance. It was established, too, to help provide instructional programs for the physically and mentally handicapped. Members of the Century Club contribute $100 or more to support the work and mission of the YMCA in these areas. Century Club members are invited to a luncheon at the YMCA in appreciation of their contribution and support of the YMCA.

YMCA MEMORIAL GIFT PROGRAM

Over the past years the YMCA has gratefully been the recipient of memorial contributions, both large and small, by families and friends of deceased loved ones. All memorial funds are used specifically and solely for YMCA facility improvements and/or program improvements as determined by the YMCA. In September of 1992, the Board of Directors approved a policy whereby when memorial contributions total $500 or more, consultation with family members of the deceased is made prior to the selection of a specific project. These contributions are then recognized by including the name of the deceased, dates of birth and death, and, if applicable, the specific use of the gift on the Memorial Gifts Plaque located in one of the two facilities.

YMCA FOUNDATION ENDOWMENT FUND

In July of 1992, the trustees of the YMCA Foundation established the YMCA Foundation Endowment Fund. Contribution and bequests to the Endowment Fund may be accepted from any source. However, the principal of any bequest or gift to the Endowment Fund is invested and only the interest generated from the investment can be used. The trustees of the YMCA Foundation have sole discretion as to the administration of the interest derived from these endowments. These contributions are then recognized by including the name of the deceased, dates of birth and death, and, if applicable, the specific use of the gift on the Memorial Gifts Plaque located in one of the two facilities.
