The SilverSneakers® Fitness program is a fun, energizing program provided at no additional cost to eligible members, and helps older adults take greater control of their health by encouraging physical activity and offering social events.
SilverSneakers is a program for active older adults who qualify under their Medicare health plan. If you are unsure of your eligibility you can: talk to your health care provider, check online, or come to either Edwardsville YCMA location and our staff will determine your eligibility.
Regular participation in SilverSneakers can help you build muscular strength, improve joint mobility and increase cardiovascular endurance, leading to improved health and greater independence. SilverSneakers also provides opportunities to:
When you come in please bring your Healthways ID card or insurance card. You can either fill out the application (or transfer form) and waiver forms at the desk or fill them out at home and bring them in.

When you sign up for a fitness center membership at the Edwardsville YMCA you will have access to all of the basic membership amenities as well as these benefits:
The Edwardsville YMCA is proud to offer SilverSneakers Classic group fitness class at both of its locations. Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activities for daily living. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a SilverSneakers ball are offered for resistance. A chair is available if needed for seated or standing support. Led by a certified SilverSneakers instructor.
